After many long days and late nights, we're proud to announce the addition of REDBAT BOOKS to the redbat design empire(!). With a focus on custom book design--covers, interiors and eBooks--redbat books is determined to make the world a more captivating place; one book at a time. In addition, redbat books has pushed and prodded its way into the publishing realm. Our very first, hot-off-the-press publication is launching TODAY! The Pariah's Syntax: Notes from an Innocent Man is a collection of personal essays and poetry written by Byron Case, a Missouri man wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole. Additional information is available at redbatbooks.com. Davy Rothbart, contributor to This American Life, creator of Found Magazine, and author of My Heart Is An Idiot had this to say about the book: “Byron Case is a sharp, soulful writer with talent to burn. These pages bristle with intelligence and dry wit, as Case reflects with powerful, moving perspective on his life before prison and behind bars. This is storytelling at its finest and most courageous. One hell of a book.” Case's supporters (centralized online at freebyroncase.com) are currently raising funds to mount an appeal on the basis of newly discovered evidence they say can exonerate Byron. Royalties of The Pariah's Syntax will go toward the legal expenses. The book is now available through redbatbooks.com, as well as the Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites. Anyway, we're getting carried away here, but that can't be helped. It's exciting! Thanks so much for reading all of this and please wish us luck.

Note: This post was from an earlier version of this blog. I could have deleted it, but since I like the book cover a lot, I decided to keep it. To view some more recent cover designs, click here. The Princess of Cannon Beach
by Kathryn James I had the pleasure of designing this book recently (cover and interior) and am happy to report that it’s now available for sale. Kathryn James was a delight to work with and I’d like to give her book a little extra publicity. Here’s the description from the back cover: “From the magnificent palaces of the Romanov tsars to a small and romantic place by the sea, The Princess of Cannon Beach tells the story of a dynasty destroyed by revolution and the courage of one young woman in the aftermath of tragedy. Follow her transformational journey from the royal palaces of St. Petersburg, through Siberia, and across the Bering Sea to a new life in Astoria and Cannon Beach, Oregon. Kathryn James creates a charming “what if” story that weaves fact with fiction around local historical reference points, and gives us the tale of a princess who was and a woman who might have been.” You can purchase a copy on Amazon. |
